Healthy Chocolate Pudding with Chia Seeds – Gesunder Schokoladenpudding mit Chiasamen

Chocolate pudding can indeed be healthy. And easy to make, too.  The secret to this is the tiny chia seed. Chia seeds are just full of healthy goodness such as fiber for example and if you let them sit in a liquid for a bit, they swell and turn into a gel due to the fiber content. And there you go, you’ll have your pudding. So just add cocoa powder and sweetener, and it is a healthy chocolate pudding, guilt free :-) It can actually even help you to lose weight because its high fiber content will keep you full for longer. Perfect. And also chia seeds are rich in Omega threes.

Healthy Chocolate Pudding with Chia Seeds

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk (I used ½ cup coconut milk and ½ cup 2% milk because I ran out of coconut milk. You can use only milk or coconut milk)
  • 4 tbsp chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • coconut palm sugar, to taste (or other sweetener)
  • optional: shaved dark chocolate, berries or other fruit etc

Directions

In a bowl, combine the milk, chia seeds, and cocoa powder. Mix well until the cocoa powder has been well incorporated. Sweeten to taste.

Place the bowl in the refrigerator for at least 6 to 7 hours. Stir again before serving. Serve plain or with chocolate shavings sprinkled on top and/or fresh fruit.

Gesunder Schokoladenpudding mit Chiasamen

Zutaten

  • 240 ml Milch (Ich habe 120 ml Kokosmilch und 120 ml Milch mit 2% Fett verwendet, da mir die Kokosmilch ausging. Man kann für dieses Rezept auch nur Milch oder Kokosmilch verwenden.)
  • 4 EL Chiasamen
  • 2 EL ungesüßtes Kakaopulver
  • Kokospalmzucker, nach Geschmack (oder anderen Süßstoff)
  • auf Wunsch: geraspelte Schokolade, Beeren oder andere Früchte etc

Zubereitung

In einer Schüssel werden die Milch mit den Chiasamen und dem Kakaopulver vermengt. Alles gut verrühren bis das Kakaopulver in der Milch aufgelöst ist. Nach Geschmack süssen.

Die Schüssel für mindestes 6 bis 7 Stunden in den Kühlschrank stellen. Vor dem Servieren noch einmal gut umrühren. Auf Wunsch kann der Pudding mit geraspelter Schokolade bestreut oder mit Beeren oder anderen Früchten serviert werden.

    @ Bread & Companatico: Thank you! We’re so alike… :-) I love chocolate, chocolate pudding, chia seeds, and bread!!!! The difference is though you can bake the most amazing loaves of bread… :-)
