Avocado-Tuna Salad – Avocado-Thunfisch-Salat

Posted on | April 25, 2013 | 4 Comments

Avocados and tuna are some of my favourite snack foods. When I saw this recipe for Avocado-Tuna Salad I thought it was brilliant to combine these two ingredients into a salad and then to serve it in the avocado shell. The salad is really tasty and healthy. It is quite filling and will keep you full for a while. It makes a perfect snack or light lunch or even dinner.

Avocado-Tuna Salad

Ingredients

  • 1 avocado
  • 1 can tuna, drained
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped onion, or to taste
  • ½ – 1 red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • fresh lemon juice, to taste
  • salt, pepper

Directions

Cut the avocado in half and remove the pit. With a spoon, scoop out some of the pulp from the middle of each half. Leave a shell of about 1/4” of avocado flesh. Place the avocado flesh into a bowl and mash it with a fork. Add the tuna, onion, and the bell pepper.

Season to taste with salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Place the salad into the avocado shells and serve.

Guten Appetit!
