Easter Recipes – Osterrezepte

Posted on | March 29, 2013 | No Comments

Who doesn’t look forward to good food during the holiday season? However, I admit I have been rather lazy for a while or not in the right holiday spirit when it comes to preparing any holiday food. But I have been thinking of what food I would prepare for Easter and here are a few of my favourites, besides the obvious Easter Egg.

On a side note, I remember as a kid that on Easter Sunday the first thing eaten that day would be an apple. I don’t know why we did this but it was a tradition we observed each year.  I have read somewhere that this is for good health. Well, I guess if that’s the reason I should reestablish this tradition. Everybody could use some of that, no :-)

Happy Easter everyone! Frohe Ostern! :-)

Today is Good Friday or Karfreitag as we call it in German. This day marks the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Many Christians commemorate this day by eating fish.
