Strawberry-Mango Salsa

Posted on | May 28, 2012 | 5 Comments

Salsa was unknown to me when I first moved to the US. And even when I tried it back then I did not particularly fall in love with it. It must have not been very good salsa back then because I absolutely love now. Last year or maybe the year before, I tried salsa with fruits and that is just heavenly. I love Cucumber and Peach Salsa and Mango-Pineapple Salsa . This one is prepared with Mango and Strawberries. I haven’t tried salsa with strawberries before but it’s delicious.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups finely diced strawberries
  • 2 cups finely diced mango pulp
  • 1/2 – 3/4 cup finely chopped red onion
  • handful basil leaves, finely chopped
  • a few green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 1/2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • salt, chili powder to taste

Directions

Add all the diced and chopped ingredients to a bowl and mix them.

Drizzle the lemon juice over the salsa and season it to taste with salt and chili powder. Let it marinade in the refrigerator for a few hours.

Serve with tortilla chips or as a topping for chicken or fish.

Guten Appetit!

Erdbeer-Mango-Salsa

  • ein paar Zwiebelpiepen, klein geschnitten
  • 2 1/2 EL frisch gepreβten Zitronensaft
  • Salz, Chilipulver

Zubereitung

Alle klein geschnittenen Zutaten in eine Schüssel geben und vermischen.

Den Zitronensaft mit der Salsa vermischen, mit Salz und Chilipulver abschmecken. Ein paar Stunden im Kühlschrank marinieren lassen.

Guten Appetit!

I have always loved salsa…chips will never be complete without them. Boring fried dishes liven up with salsa. As such, I am very thankful for these amazing salsa recipes. Thanks!

What a gorgeous salsa! I wasn’t a big fan of salsa growing up, but I like it much more now – especially with fruit in it!
