Strawberry Pineapple Frozen Yogurt

Posted on | June 12, 2011 | No Comments

Healthy is usually not a word I associate with ice cream.  But this has to be the healthiest ice cream I have ever eaten, a whole bunch of fruit mixed with yogurt and a little bit of honey.   And it tastes so fresh and fruity.  The strawberries and the pineapple create a wonderful flavour.  Simply delicious and healthy.

  • 2 cups fresh pineapple chunks
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries
  • 1 1/2 cup non-fat plain yogurt
  • honey, to taste

In a food processor or blender, puree the pineapple and the strawberries.  Add the yogurt and mix once more.

Add the honey as well and mix everything again.  The amount of honey you’ll need depends on the sweetness of the fruit.  I use about 2 tablespoons.  But you might want use more or less.

Pour the yogurt into the ice cream maker and freeze according to instructions.

Serve immediately or store in a container in the freezer.

Guten Appetit!
